Polonsky’s Correspondence

Letters to and from Polonsky in Chronological Order

The number of Polonsky’s published letters is relatively modest. 15 letters between Polonsky and Gorky appeared in Volume X, Book 2 of the "Gorky Archive" in 1965. Several letters to and from Pasternak were published in volume 93 of the series, «Литературное наследство» [Literary Heritage] in 1983. Several letters have also appeared in scattered literary journals over the years. In addition, a few items continue to surface in the archives of various writers and political figures. Fortunately, however, several hundred letters survived in Polonsky’s archive which is located at RGALI in Moscow. If copies become available, they will be incorporated into this site.
